About Jeri Lyn

Jeri Lyn was introduced to Powerlifting at Campus High School in Haysville, KS. She competed for three years in high school, winning nine state championship medals and a national championship. In 2003 at the NASA Highschool Nationals, she broke the world record for squat.

During her freshman year of college at K-State, she served as Student Assistant in the Athletic Strength and Conditioning Department. This year she continued Powerlifting and placed second at USAPL Collegiate Nationals, winning a seat at the IPF JR. Words.

Her total in the SHW class was 1036.17lb with a 418.8lb squat, 220lb bench press, and a 396lb deadlift. Due to an injury sustained during the competition, she could not go to the IPF worlds. Subsequently, she experienced a traumatic ankle injury that Summer caused her to step away from the platform.

Since then, Jeri Lyn has enjoyed exploring other hobbies and interests that the Lord brought to her outside of Powerlifting, including collegiate rowing and CrossFit. During this season, she lived in four different states, married Andrew “Tree” Triolo, and has been blessed with two beautiful children. Her husband now serves as an Associate Pastor of Student Families in Bryan, Texas.

Jeri Lyn wanted to pour back into Powerlifting by mentoring young high school athletes upon settling in Texas. She decided to begin lifting again to become current with the sport. In August 2021, she visited Brazos Valley Barbell (BVB) to see if she could still lift. The Lord surprised Jeri Lyn by giving her the ability to squat 250lbs the first day back.

In January 2022, Jeri Lyn returned to the platform at a competition, placing first with a 418lb squat, 198.25lb bench, and 402.25 deadlift giving a total of 1019.25 with only six months of training!

After this competition, Jeri Lyn felt confirmed that she had made the right decision to return to the platform. She is committed more now than ever to the sport of Powerlifting and is looking forward to opportunities for coaching/mentoring others in the sport.

In the very near future, she hopes to break through the USAPL National Qualifying total of 1063 pounds this April. Following that, her goal is to compete at the USAPL Open National within three years and achieve a 1500lb total before becoming a part of the Masters.

If you ask Jeri Lyn what she attributes her strength to, she would quickly give credit to God for His Joy being her source of strength.

Jeri Lyn is grateful for those who have supported and encouraged her both in the past and now. Your words of encouragement helped her to pursue her new goals.
